The Office of Regional Medical Education has begun to develop informational presentations called “Modules” on topics in medical education which we hope you, as a community-based physician educating UTMB medical students, will find useful in your teaching activities. The modules that are currently available for you to utilize are approved for up to two AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. How to Begin a Presentation Click on a module link on the right side of this webpage to begin an audio-narrated PowerPoint presentation of your choice. Click on the arrows on the bottom right side of each slide to progress through the presentation at your own pace. Instructions for activities such as printing embedded resource documents and applying for CME credit will be found as you advance through the narrated presentation. Movie files begin automatically but may take a few moments to open. Future modules are planned in areas such as: ► Incorporating a student into the private practice clinic ► Teaching and learning styles ► The One-Minute Preceptor ► Teaching the “Clinical Competencies” ► Expectations you should have of your student ► Professionalism ► UTMB course-specific content ► Integrating complementary and alternative medicine awareness As we continue to create modules, your feedback will be extremely useful. Please provide your reactions and comments to the presentations by submitting the Evaluation for the module(s) you review. Thank you and we hope you enjoy these activities. ~The UTMB Community Faculty Coordinating Committee |
Please note that the modules offered below are no longer available for CME credit. You are more than welcome to review them, offer feedback, and use them as qualifiers for Community or Master Preceptor recognition applications. Module 1: The Community Physician’s Role in Medical Education
